Engineering community set to feature in new video series

Engineers Ireland, the professional membership body for engineers, is calling on Ireland’s engineering community to showcase their inspiring engineering endeavours as part of a new six-part video series.

The Engineering Excellence Digital Series, held in association with ESB and supported by Geoscience Ireland, aims to recognise excellence in the engineering sector and the positive impact that engineers have made to society.

“The Engineering Excellence Digital Series aims to shine a light on the role of engineers and the important contribution they make to society,” commented Caroline Spillane, Director General of Engineers Ireland.

“In association with our title sponsor ESB, we look forward to profiling engineering initiatives which have had greatest impact on Irish society over the past 12 months and engineers who have demonstrated excellence and visionary leadership.”

The professional membership body is now calling on engineers, engineering businesses and firms, local authorities and third level institutions to highlight their top project work of 2021 for their opportunity to feature in the series.

Calling on participation by Ireland’s engineering community, Ms Spillane added: “We want to showcase through professional video, the stories and achievements of engineers and engineering projects that stand out in 2021 and we invite Ireland’s engineering community to get involved.

“We are looking for evidence of talent, skill and hard work demonstrated by engineers in a range of settings. That work could be in infrastructural development, or advances in MedTech, or manufacturing, or an excellent sustainable or digital solution to benefit society. We want to shine a light on the role of engineers in our community and we look forward to receiving entries from all engineering disciplines.”
