SuperNode welcomes new marine planning system

SuperNode believes the recent publication of the National Marine Planning Framework and the Maritime Area Planning Bill to be an important step in Ireland’s decarbonisation journey.

Ireland aims to develop 5 GW of offshore wind by 2030 and a robust planning system is crucial to achieving this.

SuperNode CEO John Fitzgerald had this to say: “This new planning framework for the maritime arena will help to unlock Ireland’s renewable energy potential.

“We need to excel at marine development in order to meet our 2050 targets and to realise our offshore renewable potential.”
