SEE THE LIGHT 2006

SEE THE LIGHT 2006 - organised by Sustainable Energy Ireland’s Renewable Energy Information Office (SEI REIO), in association with the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) - will take place at the Cavan Crystal Hotel, Cavan on 28-29 September 2006.

Given the inevitable prospect of increased electricity prices and heating costs, See the Light 2006 showcases the emergence of extraordinary standards of energy performance into the mainstream of building construction across Europe and Ireland, as well as the unprecedented level of uptake of renewable energy technologies for building services.

Xavier Dubuisson, Technical Manager SEI said - "Ireland is facing a number of serious challenges, including rising energy costs and our emissions obligations under the Kyoto protocol. These - and other factors - have given rise to a fundamental rethink in the way we design, construct and operate buildings. Building 'Green' is quickly becoming the preferred choice for energy and cost conscious consumers and businesses in Ireland."

SEI REIO has invited leading Irish and European experts to speak and share their expertise and experiences with delegates. Delegates attending the two-day conference will be offered an invaluable and in-depth understanding of the key principles and techniques in developing low energy buildings and learn how renewable energy can be used cost-effectively to provide healthy and ecological buildings here in Ireland.

The event will be of particular interest to -

the Building Industry Agenda 21 Officers
Architects Housing and Building Departments
Engineers Housing Associations
Consultants Universities & Research Organisations
Developers and Installers Government Departments
Local Authority Planners NGO's.

Suppliers and installers will also be attending to showcase and exhibit the latest in technology innovation.
