VICHEM ensures that its expertise doesn’t go to waste

Thanks to VICHEM’s thermal oxidation system - pulvaporization - it is now possible to treat gaseous or liquid waste with very high viscosity, while, at the same time, maintaining dioxins and nitrogen oxides at a very low level in the process - thus protecting the environment.

VICHEM specialises in the design, installation and commissioning of turnkey units for waste treatment and will be showcasing its technology at various trade fairs to be held in Central & Eastern Europe - as well as China - in the autumn. The company is seeking local partners.

The revolutionary design of the oxidizer, the pulvaporization system developed by VICHEM, enables it to atomize and vaporize the waste in one single step. Independent tests, performed on site, have proved that this unique thermal oxidation system gives a DRE (Destruction and Removal Efficiency) of more than 99.99%, with stack emissions well within existing environmental standards.

The system developed by VICHEM has unequalled reliability and can operate for up to 8,500 hours per year.

Each unit consists of a burner, a furnace and a quench unit - and has been used for the destruction of chlorinated and/or fluorinated waste, in which the halogenated content can vary from very low to very high concentration, while recovering energy through steam production.

These innovative systems make it possible to treat waste with a high salt content, while recovering energy in the form of steam.

VICHEM’s technology for treating halogenated waste makes it possible to recycle acids such as HCl, HF and HBr, depending on the application.

VICHEM has also widened the field of applications for its system so as to successfully treat specific types of industrial waste - hazardous or very hazardous.

In addition, VICHEM supplies a number of pollution-management systems, including - oxidation, gas filtration, energy recovery, gas scrubbing, absorption and adsorption, stripping, quench systems and pure acid production, among others.

With the benefit of 50 years of experience - and thanks to this advanced technology in the field of industrial waste treatment, whether the waste is solid, liquid or gaseous - VICHEM counts many sector leaders among its clients, including - Atofina, Rhone-Poulenc, Solvay, and Rhodia.

In the UK, the French specialist company supplies Rhodia Fine Organics with its waste-treatment unit and is looking for new partners.

In the Republic of Ireland and in the Netherlands, VICHEM is looking for a local representative to sell and distribute its innovative systems in the country.
