Introduction
to ISO 14001
BACKGROUND
Organisations of all kinds are increasingly concerned with achieving
and demonstrating sound environmental performance, by controlling
the impacts of their activities, products and services on the environment
- consistent with their environmental policy and objectives.
ISO 14001 is intended to provide organisations with
the elements of an effective Environmental Management System (EMS)
that can be integrated with other management requirements and help
organisations achieve environmental goals and objectives in relation
to their identified significant environmental aspects.
OBJECTIVES
On completing this course participants will -
- Understand the requirements of ISO 14001:2004
- Be able to evaluate their own organisations' environmental performance
- Understand the importance of internal audits in environmental
management systems.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
- Those with responsibility for implementing or maintaining an
ISO 14001 Management System
- Anyone with responsibility for auditing an Environmental Management
System.
